The Climate Data Steering Committee (CDSC) published its Recommendations for the Development of the Net-Zero Data Public Utility (now the Climate Data Utility) in November 2022.
The Climate Data Utility is a global, centralized, platform that aggregates and delivers for company-level climate-related data. It makes more easily accessible a core set of corporate-level data disclosure critical for companies, financial institutions, policymakers, investors, academics, and other stakeholders to assess climate-related risks and opportunities and inform decision-making. It provides access to data in a consistent format that is publicly accessible and draws on existing and forthcoming climate-related reporting initiatives and requirements.
As a global resource, it is designed to support a wide range of investment and analysis priorities, including quantifying emissions reduction or increases, resilience, transition risk, and broader investment objectives, including those led by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
